Paraguayan Fugitive Accused of 2022 Child Abuse Arrested in Colegiales

A joint multinational digital intelligence operation uncovered his false identity, leading to his capture at a Buenos Aires hair salon.

  • The 49-year-old suspect is alleged to have sexually abused two children aged 10 and 11 in Asunción on January 5, 2022.
  • He evaded justice for more than three years by adopting a false identity and working as a hairdresser in Buenos Aires’s Colegiales neighborhood.
  • Interpol, Paraguayan authorities and the Argentine Federal Police shared social media data, surveillance and law enforcement databases to track him down.
  • Police arrested the fugitive on July 19 outside a salon on Avenida Federico Lacroze after confirming his assumed identity.
  • He is now held by the Juzgado Nacional en lo Criminal y Correccional Federal Nº5 pending Paraguay’s formal extradition request.
