Paraglider Rescued After Crashing Onto Lough Erne Resort Roof, Taken to Hospital

The resort later reopened to the public after the emergency response concluded.

  • Emergency services were alerted around 12:49–12:51pm on Sunday, with the incident located off Lough Shore Road in Co Fermanagh.
  • NIFRS deployed three fire appliances, a Specialist Rescue Team and a turntable ladder before transferring the patient to the care of paramedics.
  • NI Ambulance Service dispatched multiple units and transported one person to South West Acute Hospital following on-scene treatment.
  • Lough Erne Resort restricted access during the operation and later said the grounds reopened, as online video showed the collision and an eyewitness reported the pilot had aimed for a helipad.
