Paradine BMW Leads at Six Hours in 24H Dubai

Code 60 pit cycles with limited refueling vaulted the Paradine entry after qualifying was scrambled by strict shootout policing.

Overview

  • Kelvin van der Linde put Team WRT’s No. 669 BMW in front on lap one and led after the first hour, as polesitter Benjamin Paque’s TFT Mercedes dropped to 16th by the end of the opening stint.
  • The inaugural Top 10 shootout produced a surprise pole for Paque, with several laps deleted for track limits and Dragon Racing’s No. 777 Ferrari disqualified for technical non-compliance, reshaping the grid.
  • Paradine Competition signaled speed by sweeping warm-up 1-2, then leveraged Code 60 timing to place the No. 991 BMW effectively in control at quarter distance with James Kellett leading.
  • At Daytona’s Roar Before the 24, Porsche topped the opening session in a 1-2-3 led by Felipe Nasr before BMW M Team WRT’s Sheldon van der Linde set the fastest time in session two.
  • By six hours in Dubai, Red Ant Racing had taken the 992 class lead, Team CMR’s Ginetta headed GTX, and Cerny Motorsport’s BMW continued to pace GT4.
