Papa John’s Returns to India With Four Bengaluru Restaurants and a Localized Menu

Master franchisee PJP Foods India is steering a locally tailored rollout with value pricing, a Hennur quality center, then delivery to follow.

Overview

  • PJP Foods India, a joint venture of PJP Investments Group and Ambrosia QSR, opened four dine-in outlets in Indiranagar, Hennur, Electronic City and Sarjapur Road, supported by a 14,000 sq ft Quality Control Centre in Hennur that makes fresh dough daily.
  • India’s first Papa John’s “mostly vegetarian” menu features regional flavors, including a Bengaluru-exclusive Ghee Roast Pizza offered in chicken and paneer variants.
  • Pizzas are priced from ₹149 to ₹799, with an initial focus on dine-in and takeaway; home delivery is slated to start in the coming months using the company’s own fleet, alongside a new app and the Papa Dough loyalty program.
  • Tapan Vaidya said three more Bengaluru restaurants are planned by the end of October, with about 30 locations targeted by 2026 and a longer-term goal of 650 nationwide over 10 years.
  • The relaunch follows a GST change that set the tax on pizza bread at 0% from September 22, while toppings remain at 18%, with dine-in bills taxed at 5% and takeaway or delivery orders at 18%.
