Overview
- PanIIT Alumni India confirmed a one-day summit titled “Catalysing Innovation for Swarnandhra Vision 2047” will be held in Vijayawada on October 3 with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expected to inaugurate the event.
- The summit will take place at the Novotel Vijayawada Varun and organisers expect more than 500 delegates, including about 100 startup founders, 50 CEOs and 50 investors and venture capitalists.
- Programme topics will concentrate on DeepTech and emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, MedTech and pharma, green energy, semiconductors, data centres, quantum computing, and defence and aerospace.
- PanIIT is exploring a first‑of‑its‑kind Centre of Excellence in Amaravati and has requested land from the state; discussions are ongoing and an MoU might be signed during the October summit but no commitment is final.
- PanIIT says it will leverage its network across 23 IITs to attract research and investment to Andhra Pradesh, a push framed by organisers as a response to India’s low R&D intensity and the state’s strategic assets such as the Kharagpur‑Amaravati corridor.
