PAMI Confirms October Free Medicines, Sets Valid Credentials and Prescriptions, Expands Patient Transfers

The overhaul centralizes procedures in Mi PAMI to simplify credentials, prescriptions, transfers, plus optical exceptions.

Overview

  • PAMI published the October roster of treatments with full medication coverage, including diabetes, oncology and oncohematology, hemophilia, HIV and hepatitis B/C, transplants, rheumatoid arthritis, intravitreal ophthalmology, osteoarthritis, chronic kidney disease with hyperparathyroidism, and hematopoietic disorders.
  • Only three credentials are accepted as of October 2025: the QR-enabled provisional credential from Mi PAMI, the provisional ticket printed at UGL kiosks, and the legacy plastic card for those who still have it.
  • Medication dispensing uses two valid prescription formats: electronic white prescriptions and activated manual celeste prescriptions, with green prescriptions discontinued and a 30‑day validity period; certain special drugs may also require a printed, signed copy.
  • ANSES and PAMI operate free assisted, scheduled transfers for affiliates with a medical indication, requiring at least 48 working hours’ notice, with trips under 30 km coordinated by the provider and longer trips needing prior UGL authorization or CODE processing for inter‑locality referrals.
  • PAMI maintains annual coverage for one pair of glasses for near and one for far or a bifocal pair, and allows early replacements through the Vía de Excepción for theft, loss, breakage, glaucoma, prescription change or surgery with required documentation including DNI, PAMI credential, a manual ophthalmologic order, a sworn statement when applicable, and clinical history.
