PAMI and ANSES Activate Free Medical Transport and Tighten Rules for 100% Drug Coverage

Access hinges on scheduled requests under a 30-day electronic prescription system with verified eligibility.

Overview

  • PAMI’s nationwide assisted transport for retirees is live, with requests required at least 48 business hours in advance via phone, the web portal or in person at a local UGL.
  • Trips under 30 km are coordinated directly by transport providers, while journeys over 30 km need UGL authorization and interlocal referrals are routed through the CODE center.
  • The Mi PAMI platform now centralizes key procedures online, including prescription management and benefit applications for more than five million affiliates.
  • From October, an electronic prescription valid for 30 days is mandatory to obtain medicines at no cost under PAMI’s 100% subsidy.
  • Eligibility for full coverage is means‑tested, including income caps, no private insurance, limits on property and luxury assets, and required documents, with covered therapies spanning diabetes, oncology, HIV/hepatitis, transplant care, intravitreal ophthalmologics and renal disease treatments.
