Overview
- Pocketpair released Palworld 1.0 on PC and consoles this weekend, and the relaunch sparked a large player return that hit a reported one-day peak of 855,525 concurrent users on Steam.
- The 1.0 update adds roughly 72 new Pals (bringing the roster to about 287), raises the level cap from 65 to 80, and introduces new systems called Awakening and Mutation that change Pal progression and stats.
- Pocketpair shipped broad gameplay and world changes including new zones (Sunreach and the World Tree), reworked raids, updated partner skills, in-game voice chat and visual polish across many Pals.
- The developer advised players to remove legacy mods and back up saves or start fresh characters to avoid corruption after sweeping mechanical and story changes, and kept the $29.99 price with a limited 30% launch discount.
- Nintendo’s ongoing lawsuit against Pocketpair has already led to some feature and visual adjustments in 1.0 and presentation of evidence in that case is expected in October, a constraint that could shape future design choices.
