Palm Beach County Renames Section of Southern Boulevard ‘President Donald J. Trump Boulevard’

Ceremonial signs are set for installation by September following county approval, with final votes pending in West Palm Beach and Palm Beach.

A portion of a South Florida road that runs from the Palm Beach International Airport to Trump's Mar-a-Lago home will be renamed to honor the president.

Overview

  • Palm Beach County commissioners unanimously approved on July 8 renaming the four-mile stretch between Kirk Road and South Ocean Boulevard to President Donald J. Trump Boulevard.
  • Google Maps began displaying the honorary designation ahead of the local vote, reflecting early digital mapping updates to the roadway.
  • Under state law HB 987 signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis, the Florida Department of Transportation will install bright green-and-white ceremonial signs by September.
  • A separate segment of Southern Boulevard will be designated PBSO Motorman Highway in honor of deputies Luis Páez, Dan Diaz and Ralph “Butch” Waller who died in the line of duty last November.
  • The city councils of West Palm Beach and Palm Beach must still approve the change before it becomes official, although the honorary signage will not affect mailing addresses or emergency services.
