  • Under the settlement total bedrooms will be capped at 896, a 40 percent reduction from the latest proposal and a 60 percent cut from the original plan
  • New commercial space is trimmed by 20 percent and the controversial indoor waterpark is eliminated in favor of a smaller mountain adventure center
  • A conservation easement secures the base of Shirley Canyon for recreation and public trails in perpetuity and bars additional building for 25 years
  • The agreement is projected to reduce daily vehicle trips by 38 percent to address traffic congestion and environmental impacts around Lake Tahoe
  • A revised development blueprint must earn Placer County Board of Supervisors approval after community meetings before environmental groups drop their lawsuit
