• Palghar District Collector Dr Indu Rani Jakhar ordered a one-day holiday for all educational institutions on September 29 after a red alert on Sunday and an orange alert for Monday.

• The IMD issued an orange alert for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar and Raigad for Monday, and officials said dam releases are underway with relocation plans prepared for 42 riverside villages if required.
