Palestinian-American Student Expelled Over Mother's Pro-Palestine Posts

The Council on American-Islamic Relations has urged the US Department of Education to investigate the expulsion, claiming the posts were taken out of context.

A 15-year-old Palestinian-American student, Jad Abuhamda, was expelled from Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, due to his mother's pro-Palestine social media posts.
His mother, Maha Almasri, was also fired from her position as a math tutor at the same school due to her social media posts criticizing Israel's actions in Gaza.
The school deemed Almasri's posts as 'hateful and incendiary', potentially inciting hatred and creating a climate of fear.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has requested the US Department of Education to investigate the expulsion.
Almasri and her son deny the school's claims, stating that the posts were taken out of context and were merely shedding light on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
