Palestine Action Pursues High Court Bid While Supporters Plot 500-Strong London Sit-In

  • Home Secretary Yvette Cooper proscribed Palestine Action on July 5 under the Terrorism Act 2000, making membership or support a criminal offence punishable by up to 14 years in prison.

  • Since early July, over 200 individuals have been detained nationwide for holding signs or otherwise expressing support for Palestine Action under Section 13 of the law.
  • Defend Our Juries has organised a sit-in of at least 500 supporters at Parliament Square on August 9, instructing participants to remain seated “until arrest” to test police capacity.
