Overview
- Casa del Rey confirmed a program for 21–22 November marking 50 years since Juan Carlos I’s proclamation, with details on speakers, venues and protocol.
- On 21 November, the King, Queen, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía will attend a Congress forum titled “50 years later: the Crown in the transition to democracy,” moderated by Fernando Ónega and Iñaki Gabilondo with contributions from Miquel Roca, Miguel Herrero de Miñón, Adela Cortina and Rosario García Mahamut.
- A Royal Palace ceremony will confer the Collar of the Order of the Golden Fleece on Queen Sofía, with the same honor granted to Felipe González, Miquel Roca and Miguel Herrero de Miñón; González will speak for the honorees and the King will deliver closing remarks on the parliamentary monarchy.
- Felipe VI, alongside the Queen and their daughters, will receive Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and top state representatives at the Royal Palace, followed by a luncheon hosted by the royals.
