Overview
- On Monday, the hearse will depart Kensington Palace for Westminster Cathedral for a private family vigil featuring the Rite of Reception and Vespers, with the coffin resting overnight in the Chapel of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
- A piper from The Royal Dragoon Guards will lead the start of the journey, and the regiment will provide the bearer party at the cathedral.
- The requiem mass will be held on Tuesday at Westminster Cathedral, marking the first Catholic funeral for a modern member of the Royal Family.
- King Charles III and Queen Camilla will attend alongside the Duke of Kent and close relatives, with Cardinal Vincent Nichols leading the service and participation from Bishop James Curry and the Dean of Windsor.
- Following the mass, the coffin will travel by hearse to the Royal Burial Ground at Frogmore, Windsor, for a private interment on 16 September.
