Overview
- A Requiem Mass will be held at 14:00 BST on Tuesday, 16 September at Westminster Cathedral, with the King and Queen confirmed to attend.
- On Monday, 15 September, the coffin will leave the private chapel at Kensington Palace for the Rite of Reception and Vespers, then rest overnight in the Lady Chapel.
- The Cardinal Archbishop of Westminster will celebrate the Mass, Bishop James Curry will lead the eve rites, and the Dean of Windsor will take part before accompanying the coffin to Windsor.
- Following the service, burial will take place at the Royal Burial Ground at Frogmore in Windsor.
- This will be the first royal funeral at Westminster Cathedral since 1903 and is reported to be the first modern royal Catholic funeral, with attendance by the Duke of Sussex and Prince Andrew not yet confirmed.
