• Pakistani and Pakistani-origin athletes from cities across Pakistan and the global diaspora took part in the World Marathon Major, which drew more than 53,000 participants.
• Syed Ali Hamza, a Villanova-based Pakistani-American, was the fastest Pakistani finisher with a time of 2:55:14.
• Aisha Qamar of Brooklyn led Pakistani women in 3:00:51, while Karachi’s Dania Ali made her World Marathon Major debut with a personal best of 4:45:07.
• Karachi’s Faisal Shafi finished in 3:18:52 to rank as the fastest Pakistan-based runner this year.
• Uganda’s Jacob Kiplimo won the men’s elite race in 2:02:23 and Ethiopia’s Hawi Feysa Gejia took the women’s title in 2:14:56.
