Overview
- ISPR said an intelligence-based operation in Kulachi, Dera Ismail Khan, on September 20 killed seven militants, including three Afghan nationals and two suicide bombers.
- The military said the group was linked to the Indian-associated network Fitna al Khwarij, and troops are carrying out sanitisation sweeps at the site.
- Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the forces and cast the action as part of efforts against what Pakistan describes as Indian-sponsored terrorism.
- The operation follows recent raids reported by ISPR across Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including four militants killed in Khuzdar and 31 in Lakki Marwat and Bannu.
- Officials are invoking a UN monitoring team report alleging Kabul–TTP links as they urge the Afghan interim government to deny its territory for attacks, with PICSS noting a 74% rise in militant incidents in August.
