Pakistan Reports Five 'India-Backed' Militants Killed in Kohlu Raid

The military casts the raid as part of the Azm-e-Istehkam drive against what it calls foreign-sponsored groups following earlier kills in Kalat and Dera Ismail Khan.

Overview

  • ISPR said five militants linked to “Fitna al Hindustan” were killed in an intelligence-based operation in Kohlu, Balochistan.
  • Troops recovered weapons, ammunition and explosives from the site, with sanitisation efforts continuing in the area.
  • The army earlier reported eight militants killed in a December 24 operation in Kalat tied to the same network, with arms and explosives seized.
  • Two Khawarij militants were killed in Kulachi, Dera Ismail Khan on December 24, including ringleader Dilawar, who carried a Rs4 million bounty, according to ISPR.
  • Officials say the actions fall under the federal Azm-e-Istehkam campaign, and the prime minister publicly praised the security forces.
