Pakistan Reports 17 Militants Killed in Darsha Khail Raid in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Authorities say the fighters were linked to the Indian proxy group Fitna al-Khawarij.

Overview

  • The raid unfolded overnight on Sept. 26–27 in the Darsha Khail/Darsha Khel area on the Lakki MarwatKarak boundary.
  • District officials enforced a curfew as troops launched sanitisation and area-clearance operations in nearby villages.
  • Police reported three officers wounded, while military statements said more than 10 militants were injured during the clashes.
  • The Army, Special Services Group and Counter-Terrorism Department participated and recovered weapons and ammunition from the site.
  • Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the operation, which follows stepped-up actions during a resurgence of militancy since the Afghan Taliban’s 2021 return to power.
