Pakistan Regulator Cuts January RLNG Tariffs by Up to 5.3%

OGRA attributed the reduction to lower delivered LNG costs reflected in recent Qatar-linked cargo pricing.

Overview

  • OGRA’s notification sets January 2026 rates effective from January 1 for consumers on both transmission and distribution networks of SNGPL and SSGC.
  • SNGPL’s RLNG transmission tariff is $10.4136/MMBtu, down $0.5050 or 4.62% from December, with the distribution tariff at $11.2743/MMBtu, down $0.5537 or 4.68%.
  • SSGC’s RLNG transmission tariff is $8.9770/MMBtu, down $0.4971 or 5.25%, while the distribution tariff is $10.2099/MMBtu, down $0.5668 or 5.26%.
  • The weighted-average prices were derived from 12 LNG cargoes, including 11 PSO imports under long-term Qatar contracts—six at a higher slope and five at a lower rate—and one cargo from PLL.
  • Updated tariffs incorporate terminal charges, transmission losses, port handling costs and PSO margins, with changes affecting industrial, commercial and power-sector users.
