Pakistan Receives First U.S. Crude Shipment at Cnergyico’s Offshore Terminal

The delivery launches energy cooperation under the July Pakistan–US trade pact.

Overview

  • MT Pegasus, a Suezmax tanker, reached Cnergyico’s Single Point Mooring off Hub, Balochistan, after departing Houston on September 14.
  • The vessel delivered 1 million barrels of West Texas Intermediate crude, setting a record as the largest oil tanker to dock at a Pakistani facility.
  • Cnergyico said a second U.S. crude cargo is due in mid-November, with a third shipment planned for early 2026.
  • The Ministry of Finance said the trade agreement aims to cut tariffs, expand market access, attract investment, and broaden cooperation across priority sectors.
  • Cnergyico operates Pakistan’s only offshore crude terminal capable of handling very large carriers, enabling direct discharge and lower logistics costs.
