Overview
- On the sidelines of UNGA 81 on Sept. 21–22, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar called for full and faithful implementation of the Gaza Peace Plan and UN Security Council Resolution 2803.
- Dar urged stronger coordination by the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and the R-4 grouping to protect Palestinians, uphold international law and keep attention on humanitarian needs.
- Foreign ministers from Pakistan, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and the UAE issued a joint R-4-style statement pressing Israel to honour Phase One commitments, preserve the ceasefire and allow unhindered delivery of aid.
- Dar demanded accountability for violations at Al-Aqsa/Al-Haram Al-Sharif and for illegal settlement activity, and he insisted reconstruction and governance in Gaza remain Palestinian-led with a central role for the Palestinian Authority.
- Alongside multilateral calls, Dar held bilateral talks with Egypt, Libya, France, the EU and Saudi Arabia and pushed to revive the Islamabad MoU as a diplomatic path to reduce wider regional tensions between the US and Iran.
