Pakistan Presses SCO for National-Currency Trade and New Development Vehicles in Moscow

  • Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar led Pakistan’s delegation to the SCO Council of Heads of Government in Moscow on November 17–18, delivering national statements in both sessions.
  • Pakistan urged member states to conduct settlements in national currencies and proposed creating an SCO Development Bank, Development Fund and Investment Fund.
  • The meeting adopted a joint communique and roughly a dozen decisions setting economic cooperation priorities across the bloc.
