Overview

• The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on April 19, 2025, that the women’s cricket team will not travel to India for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup later this year.
• Instead, Pakistan’s matches will be held at neutral venues, as per the hybrid hosting model previously agreed upon by the ICC, PCB, and BCCI.
• This decision follows Pakistan’s successful qualification for the tournament, having won all five of their Qualifier matches in Lahore.
• India and the ICC, as hosts of the World Cup, will determine the neutral venues for Pakistan’s matches, with the tournament scheduled from September 29 to October 26, 2025.
• The PCB also announced plans to reward the women’s team for their strong performance in the Qualifiers, which highlighted the growing prominence of women’s cricket in Pakistan.
