At least four people were killed while 12 others were wounded in a bomb blast in Pakistan's turbulent southern province of Balochistan in May 2025

Overview

  • Security forces have carried out search-and-clearance missions across Panjgur, Kech, Surab and Kharan since July 8 to dismantle BLF cells linked to coordinated strikes
  • Mobile and internet connections in parts of Kech and Panjgur were disrupted by explosions on communication towers and are now being gradually restored
  • Authorities are probing a grenade attack on a Turbat residence that injured five civilians, including women and children, and a separate strike on a police checkpoint in Sibi
  • On July 11 insurgents halted buses on the Zhob-Loralai highway, checked identity cards to single out nine Punjabi passengers and executed them, officials confirmed
  • Analysts say the scale and coordination of Operation Baam reflect long-standing Baloch grievances over resource control, political marginalization and heavy military presence
