Overview

• Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif hosted MWL Secretary General Dr. Mohammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa in Islamabad to discuss promoting Islam’s true image and interfaith harmony.
• Shehbaz Sharif pledged Pakistan’s full support for upcoming MWL programs, including future conferences advancing education and empowerment for women and girls in the Muslim world.
• The prime minister reaffirmed close ties with Saudi Arabia, conveyed good wishes to King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and praised Saudi efforts related to the Gaza peace agreement.
• Dr. Al-Issa thanked Pakistan for its hospitality and reiterated the League’s focus on unity, compassion, and cooperation among Muslim countries, with senior Pakistani officials and the Saudi ambassador in attendance.
• Separately, a PPP-led APPA delegation headed by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari met Shehbaz Sharif to review the domestic political situation and paid tribute for Pakistan’s role in the Gaza Peace Agreement.
