  • Within 45 minutes of the strikes, Saudi Prince Faisal bin Salman offered to relay Pakistan’s offer to halt hostilities to India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.
  • Operation Sindoor was launched on May 7 in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack and targeted nine terrorist camps along with strategic military installations.
  • India and Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire on May 10 after direct military hotline calls and behind-the-scenes diplomacy by the United States and Saudi Arabia.
  • Pakistan’s acknowledgment of the airbase strikes undercuts President Trump’s disputed claim that he personally brokered the truce.
