Painkiller Remake Announced with Co-Op and Modern Features

The cult-classic 2004 FPS returns in Fall 2025 with updated visuals, four playable characters, and a darker tone.

Developed by Anshar Studios and published by 3D Realms and Saber Interactive, the remake aims to modernize the iconic Painkiller experience.
The game introduces a three-player co-op mode, alongside single-player options, with four unique characters: Ink, Void, Sol, and Roch.
Classic weapons like the Stake Gun return, complemented by new customization options and a tarot card system for ability enhancements.
Set in Purgatory, players must battle demonic hordes to stop the fallen angel Azazel from invading Earth.
The remake, described as darker and bloodier than the original, is slated for release in Fall 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
