South Korean right-hander Woo Suk Go has agreed to a two-year, $4.5 million deal with the San Diego Padres.
Go is expected to become the Padres' closer, pending a review of his medical records.
Go has spent the past seven seasons pitching for the LG Twins in the KBO, with a 3.18 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, 401 strikeouts and 139 saves in 354 games since 2017.
The Padres have been active on the international market this offseason, having already signed Japanese left-hander Yuki Matsui to a five-year deal in December.
The Padres have lost significant pitching talent this winter, with Nick Martinez, Seth Lugo and Michael Wacha signing with new teams in free agency, and reigning NL Cy Young winner Blake Snell and closer Josh Hader also expected to leave as free agents.
