Packers to Start Micah Parsons’ 21-Day Practice Window

Coach Matt LaFleur said the team will run a cautious, staged rehab that begins with individual drills, using most of the NFL 21-day PUP window to aim for a possible Nov. 25 return.

Overview

  • The Packers, which announced the plan Monday, intend to have Micah Parsons begin practicing this week and doing so will open the NFL’s 21-day window for activation from the physically unable to perform list.
  • League reporting and team officials say Parsons will first do individual drills, then progress to team work the following week, and the staff expects to use most of the available window before clearing him for a game.
  • Multiple outlets and insiders identify Thanksgiving Eve (Nov. 25 at the Los Angeles Rams) as the likeliest game target, but LaFleur cautioned the date is 'pretty fluid' and depends on Parsons’ response to practice.
  • Parsons, who underwent ACL reconstruction and meniscus repair on Dec. 29, 2025 after recording 12.5 sacks in 14 games, is a high-cost acquisition whose activation will force roster decisions and could alter Green Bay’s pass-rush alignment.
  • Under NFL rules, once the 21-day window starts the team must either add Parsons to the 53-man roster or leave him on PUP for the season, and the Packers say they will prioritize a careful medical ramp-up to reduce re-injury risk.
