Packers Say They Will Keep Josh Jacobs After Misdemeanor Charges

The club’s stance leaves Jacobs’ Sept. 13 availability to be decided by the NFL’s conduct review as the Brown County misdemeanor case moves forward.

The Brown County district attorney filed two Class A misdemeanor counts — one battery and one criminal damage to property — against Josh Jacobs on Thursday over a May 26 disturbance.
Coach Matt LaFleur said Friday the Packers have no plans to release Jacobs and that he fully anticipates Jacobs remaining a member of the team.
Jacobs is scheduled for his first court appearance in November and his lawyers said the charges do not include domestic violence and will be addressed in court.
The NFL is monitoring the matter under its Personal Conduct Policy and could impose discipline, including a suspension, before the season, which would determine Jacobs’ Week 1 availability and elevate backups.
Jacobs led the Packers with 929 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns in 2025, so his legal and disciplinary status will shape Green Bay’s roster cuts and offensive plans for the start of the season.
