  • Flames crossed U.S. 395, which is closed between Tom’s Place and Benton Crossing Road, with drivers rerouted via U.S. 6 through Bishop.
  • Level 3 “Go Now” orders are in place for Crowley Lake and McGee Creek, with door-to-door notifications and shelters open at Mammoth Lakes Middle School and the Tri-County Fairgrounds in Bishop.
  • Authorities estimate 10 to 20 homes have been impacted as strong winds drive the fire; earlier reports cited downed power lines in the area.
  • The cause is under investigation, and the town of Mammoth Lakes is not under an evacuation order at this time.
