PAC Summons SEBI Chief Amid Hindenburg Allegations

The Public Accounts Committee has called for a review of SEBI's performance following allegations against its chairperson, Madhabi Puri Buch.

The PAC, led by Congress MP KC Venugopal, will conduct a performance review of SEBI and TRAI on October 24.
Nishikant Dubey, a BJP lawmaker, has requested the Lok Sabha Speaker to restrain PAC chief Venugopal, citing concerns over the committee's focus.
The review follows allegations by Hindenburg Research that SEBI Chief Madhabi Puri Buch and her husband had hidden stakes linked to the Adani Group.
Buch and her husband have denied the allegations, asserting their financial dealings are transparent.
The Congress party has called for a Parliamentary Committee probe, emphasizing the need to uphold SEBI's integrity.
