Overview

  • The five collaborative canvases feature multicoloured backgrounds painted by Osbourne with expressive daubs added by chimpanzees at the Florida refuge.
  • Each artwork carries a $1,000 reserve price and is open for online bids now on Omega Auctions.
  • Proceeds support Save the Chimps, a 150-acre sanctuary that houses over 200 chimpanzees rescued from laboratories, roadside zoos and wildlife traffickers.
  • Painting forms part of the refuge’s enrichment programme, providing therapeutic stimulation for chimps, some of which exhibit PTSD.
  • Osbourne, fresh from his final Black Sabbath concert, normally does not sell his paintings but made an exception to benefit the charity.
