Overview
- Ozzy opened the headlining set with a five-song solo performance from his leather throne, delivering fan favourites such as “Mr Crowley” and “Crazy Train.”
- He was then joined by original members Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward for a four-song Black Sabbath finale featuring “War Pigs,” “N.I.B.,” “Iron Man” and “Paranoid.”
- Back to the Beginning’s 10-hour run featured star appearances by Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Anthrax, Alice in Chains and other heavy metal icons.
- Musical director Tom Morello curated the line-up while Jason Momoa hosted the global livestream for fans unable to attend in person.
- Sharon Osbourne conceived the farewell as a tribute to the band’s Birmingham roots and oversaw its philanthropic mission to support Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Acorn Children’s Hospice.
