OXXO Links 50 Store Cameras to Mexico City’s C5 Surveillance Network

Officials say the pilot will enhance real-time monitoring through CSCP-managed alerts plus on-site emergency protocols.

Overview

  • The pilot was inaugurated on August 12 at an OXXO in Álvaro Obregón with C5 coordinator Salvador Guerrero Chiprés and OXXO legal representative Alejandro Arrellano in attendance.
  • Fifty external camera totems are now streaming live footage into the C5 command center, adding to its existing network of over 17,600 devices.
  • Security firm CSCP will monitor the new feeds and can trigger immediate alerts and dispatch emergency response teams under agreed protocols.
  • Pilot sites display “Este negocio es aliado del C5” signage and distribute emergency numbers 9-1-1 and 089 for public reporting and anonymous tips.
  • OXXO has not confirmed any expansion beyond the initial 50 totems despite operating over 3,000 stores nationwide.
