Overview
- The Liberal Democrat-led county cabinet voted unanimously to adopt the charge and set a latest start date of November 10.
- Charging points cover Hythe Bridge Street, St Cross Road, Thames Street and St Clement’s Street 7am–7pm daily, plus Marston Ferry Road and Hollow Way 7–9am and 3–6pm Monday to Saturday.
- Residents in the Oxford permit area can apply for up to 100 free travel-day permits per year, other Oxfordshire residents up to 25, with exemptions for Blue Badge holders, certain business vehicles and emergency services.
- The scheme will end when Botley Road reopens, is capped at two years of operation, and will be followed by a traffic-filter trial enforcing £70 fines.
