OXCCU Raises £20.75 Million to Scale Single-Step Catalyst for Sustainable Jet Fuel

New strategic investors back OXCCU’s push to commercialize a one-step iron-catalyst route that targets lower SAF costs.

Overview

  • International Airlines Group, Safran Corporate Ventures, Orlen VC, Hostplus and TCVC joined the round, with existing investors including Clean Energy Ventures, IP Group/Kiko Ventures, Aramco Ventures, Eni Next, Braavos Capital and the University of Oxford.
  • OXCCU says its patented iron-based catalyst converts CO2 and other waste-gas feedstocks directly into jet-fuel-range hydrocarbons in a single exothermic reaction.
  • The company reports feedstock flexibility across reformed biogas, gasified wood waste and CO2 combined with hydrogen.
  • Funding will accelerate commercialization, expand operations and support scale-up from the OX1 demonstration plant toward larger deployments.
  • The OX1 demo plant is operational at London Oxford Airport and the OX2 facility is under construction with full operation targeted for 2026, with longer-term plans to license the technology globally and explore applications in chemicals and plastics.
