Owner of XL Bully Dog Admits Guilt in Fatal Attack on Neighbor

Christopher Bell pleads guilty to charges after his dog killed Ian Langley in Sunderland last year.

Christopher Bell, 45, has pleaded guilty at Newcastle Crown Court to being the owner of a dangerously out-of-control XL bully dog that killed his neighbor, Ian Langley.
Ian Langley, 54, suffered fatal neck injuries during the attack on October 3, 2023, while walking his puppy in Shiney Row near Sunderland.
The dog, named Titan, was shot by police at the scene to ensure public safety, while another XL bully was also removed by authorities.
Bell, who has since relocated to Hull, has been granted bail and is scheduled for sentencing on January 27, 2025.
Langley, affectionately known as 'Scouse,' was remembered by neighbors as a kind person, not prone to violence, and unlikely to provoke trouble.
