Owaisi Blasts Modi’s dependence Day RSRSS Praise and Alleges Textbook Distortion

Owaisi said the RSS’s omission from freedom movement accounts insults national memory, urging NCERT to add ‘Muslims Against Partition’ to its syllabus.

Overview

  • In a presser on August 16, Owaisi called Modi’s praise of the RSS “a great insult to our freedom struggle” because the organisation never joined major anti-British campaigns.
  • He accused the RSS and BJP of systematically revising NCERT textbooks to exclude key facts, including Syama Prasad Mookerjee’s tenure in the Bengal cabinet.
  • The AIMIM chief demanded NCERT incorporate Shamsul Islam’s Muslims Against Partition and denounced claims that Muslims were responsible for India’s 1947 Partition as “a lie.”
  • Owaisi characterized the RSS’s Hindutva ideology as “completely against the Constitution” and warned that its historical narrative promotes exclusion over pluralism.
  • He also raised a security concern, warning that India has lost access to 25 patrol points along the China border.
