Overwatch 2’s Stadium Mode Becomes Most-Played as Blizzard Details 2025 Roadmap

Overview

  • Stadium mode recorded 2.3 million matches and 7.8 million hours played in its first week, surpassing Quick Play and Competitive as Overwatch 2’s top mode.
  • Blizzard has confirmed a 2025 roadmap, including six new heroes, four new maps, crossplay, custom games, and build-sharing tools by October.
  • Season 17 (June) will introduce Sigma, Junkrat, and Zenyatta, along with the Esperança and Samoa maps, crossplay, and save/share build functionality.
  • Season 18 (August) will add Winston, Sojourn, and Brigitte, as well as the Payload Race mode, Route 66 and London maps, and new quest mechanics.
  • Developers estimate it will take nearly two years to balance and integrate the full Overwatch 2 hero roster into Stadium mode.
