Overnight Stabbings Across Milan Leave 18-Year-Old in Intensive Care

Investigators are examining surveillance video following a night of knife assaults across the city.

Overview

  • At Via Camoens near Parco Sempione shortly before 2:30 a.m., a 17-year-old Egyptian sustained a head wound and an 18-year-old Italian was stabbed in the neck area, back, and abdomen, with the latter now in intensive care after surgery.
  • Milan’s mobile squad is reconstructing the attack from witness statements and video, and investigators have ruled out a robbery motive in this case.
  • Separately around 8 p.m. on Via Vizzola in Bicocca, two Colombian men, 19 and 20, were injured in a fight, with the 20-year-old transported in code red to San Carlo.
  • After 12:30 a.m. in Piazza Costantino along the Naviglio della Martesana, two men, 28 and 34, were knifed in what Carabinieri say was likely a robbery, and they were taken to San Raffaele and Fatebenefratelli.
  • Authorities report no arrests or confirmed links among the incidents, and the most seriously wounded 18-year-old remains hospitalized in reserved prognosis at Niguarda.
