Overnight Roadblocks and Vehicle Attacks Disrupt PátzcuaroTzintzuntzan; Traffic Restored by 4:30 a.m.

Overview

  • Two coordinated incidents were reported before dawn, with vehicles burned and vandalized on routes in Pátzcuaro and neighboring Tzintzuntzan.
  • In Tzurumutaro, a Nissan Frontier was set on fire and a Nissan Tsuru, a bus, and a trailer platform showed tire punctures and gunfire damage.
  • At the Sanabria junction in Tzintzuntzan, a Mercedes-Benz bus and two cars—a Ford Fiesta and a Nissan Sentra—were used to block both lanes of the Quiroga–Pátzcuaro highway.
  • Responders found broken glass, punctured tires, and spent casings near the blocked vehicles, and local firefighters extinguished the truck fire.
  • Municipal police, the state prosecutor’s office, the National Guard, and the Army removed the vehicles and reopened circulation at 4:30 a.m., with no arrests reported and no casualties confirmed.
