Overnight Fire Contained at Roca Brothers’ Normal Restaurant in Girona

  • Bombers located the source in the restaurant chimney and extinguished active embers within minutes.
  • Damage was confined to the mezzanine and a section of the kitchen near the extractor hood, according to emergency services.
  • Residents were evacuated from the building, utilities were cut during safety checks, and neighbors returned around 6:30 a.m.; one person with reduced mobility remained safely confined.
  • The incident is the second fire at a Roca-owned venue in less than a month after Mas Marroch burned on Nov. 4, and Josep Roca said they aim to reopen Normal soon.
