Over 200 Train Services Disrupted in Telangana as SCR Races to Restore Flood-Hit Tracks

SCR warns passengers to expect rolling changes during repairs on breached sections.

Overview

  • Officials reported about 211 services affected on Friday, including 128 cancellations, 50 diversions and 28 partial cancellations across the Hyderabad division.
  • Flooding and breaches have hit the Bhiknur–Tadmadla and Akanapet–Medak stretches, with additional overflow reported at Gajwel–Lakudaram and Bolsa–Karkheli as water recedes unevenly.
  • SCR activated a round-the-clock control room at Rail Nilayam, dispatched monsoon-special trains from Purna and Kazipet carrying repair material, and sent senior engineers for tower-car inspections.
  • Passenger support includes helplines, refunds for cancellations, catering arrangements on diverted trains and advisories to check 139, NTES or IRCTC for live status before travel.
  • Regional transport has also been strained, with earlier NH‑44 breaches and curtailed state bus operations, though authorities say more than half of bus services have since been restored.
