Over 146,000 Women Complete Basic Education Through INEA by Mid-2025

Flexible in-person, digital, exam-based study options powered results in five priority states under the government’s literacy strategy for gender equality.

Overview

  • INEA and SEP data show 146,804 women finished literacy, primary or secondary education from January to June 2025, making up 52.09% of all adult‐basic certifications nationwide.
  • Female literacy completions reached 23,577 (56.32% of total), while 47,558 women earned primary certificates (51.29%) and 75,669 secured secondary diplomas (51.41%).
  • The INEA’s multimodal delivery combines in‐person tutoring, printed study guides, exam‐based accreditation and AprendeINEA, its digital platform for remote adult learners.
  • San Luis Potosí (14,800), Guanajuato (14,152), Chiapas (10,078), Oaxaca (8,969) and Puebla (7,199) accounted for the largest shares of women certificants.
