Over $145,000 Raised to Replace Destroyed Jackie Robinson Statue

Major League Baseball and all 30 clubs pledge support; replacement expected within months.

Over $145,000 has been raised to replace the destroyed statue of Jackie Robinson, far exceeding the estimated value of $75,000.
The statue was stolen and found burned in a park 7 miles away from its original location at McAdams Park in Wichita, Kansas.
Major League Baseball and all 30 clubs have pledged support towards the cost of replacing the statue.
One of the largest donations is a $10,000 pledge from an anonymous former Major League Baseball player who won a World Series.
The replacement statue is expected to be erected within a matter of months as the original mold is still viable.
