Overview

  • As of July 24 the ministry recorded 7,765 vacancies in Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan schools and 4,323 in Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti institutions, totaling 12,088 posts
  • Vacancies have resulted from new school openings as well as retirements, resignations, promotions, transfers, liens and upgradation of institutions
  • The ministry describes the hiring process as continuous under relevant recruitment rules with selection drives in progress
  • Contractual teachers are being appointed on a temporary basis to maintain uninterrupted academic operations
  • Additional staffing gaps include 143 Group A academic posts at NCERT and 60 vacancies at the National Council for Teacher Education, with filling processes also under way
