Over 120 Arrested in Florida Human Trafficking Operation

Undercover operation leads to arrests of teacher, nurse, and basketball coach among others.

Over 120 people, including a teacher, nurse, and basketball coach, were arrested in Florida during a three-month-long human trafficking operation called 'Operation Renewed Hope'.
The operation involved undercover detectives posing as minors available for sex and as guardians offering sexual services from children.
Among those arrested was 39-year-old Zheng Dong, who had previously been arrested for human trafficking charges in May 2022.
The operation was conducted by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, which has arrested 604 people and charged 36 with human trafficking-related charges since its Human Trafficking Squad was launched.
28 victims have been rescued from human trafficking by the squad.
